Traditional Music puts Craigie Inn, Ayrshire on the Map
Trad Music Awards of 2006, The Craigie
Inn, in the village of Craigie near Kilmarnock is hosting live traditional
music on Friday evenings.Musicians and singers from all over the Country
have performed at the idyllic Inn. Local musician Sean Grey leads the
monthly Session Nights; having recently graduated from Plockton’s National
Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music he plays guitar and wooden flute
and is accompanied by a host of performers of all ages. The evenings start
around 9.30 and all musicians and singers are welcome.
Session nights take place on the 3rd
Friday of each month and entry is free.
The local folk music club meet at the
Inn on the 1st Friday of each month and regular Scottish Nights
are held in the function suite where guests from all over the Uk get a taste
of great Scottish entertainment including Highland Dancing, Traditional
Music and Burns recitals.
The Craigie Inn is widely known for its
fine food and is recommended in Hidden Inns - the signposting does however
insure that it is easy to find from the main A77 route South West.
Arrive early for dinner, a good bottle
of wine and sit back enjoy the music.
